Carmen Sylva Walkway
A scenic walk through ancient forest
If Opatija’s parks inspire you to explore even more greenery, the Carmen Sylva walkway is an excellent choice. Named after the pen name of Romanian Queen Elisabeth, this path offers a relaxing yet active hour-and-a-half walk in fresh mountain air under centuries-old trees. Along the way, you will encounter the Vrutki spring, where women once gathered to wash clothes, and a stone bench carved into rock where Carmen Sylva found inspiration for her poetry. At the end, you will find rest areas Vela and Mala Fortica with stunning views of the entire Kvarner coast.
