Windsurfing

For those who enjoy more demanding activities, there’s a great windsurfing spot near Opatija. In Preluk Bay, near Volosko, conditions are ideal for surfing. As you glide across the crystal-blue Adriatic Sea, the tramontana wind (blowing from land to sea) will power your ride. It usually blows early in the morning, so you’ll need to wake up early—but the experience of heading out toward the rising sun makes it worthwhile. Both beginners and advanced surfers are welcome.
